PS its the TCF 5005 Reverb tube rectified version (in case you missed the picture of the Rectifier tube).

Sounds good so far, the footswitch is trashed, got the tremelo to work with some help.

A good day like that is needed often, congrats on the nice amp,was that Mullard 5AR4/GZ34 tube in that amp?
I have several I've bought and they're great,3 of them are the RCA branded ones like that one,I have one in my '67 Vibrolux Reverb, none better, imho.
Is that Mr. Egnater in the pic with you?

Yep thats Mr egnater, His son Ian was behind us.
That guy is the real deal !

I was gonna ask you guys about that RCA branded GZ34, wasn't sure what it was

It was a killer day !

My wife bought me a gross of my favorite fender Xtra Heavy picks too, i won't run out any time soon.

Hey ya only turn 46 one time (her words not mine) early B-day present.

Edited cause I put eight hours behind the wheel and ate some killer Amish grub all day !

Hey ARJAY

I miss Johhny Carson ! no real talent like that on TV these days !!!

The guy says his tech "blackfaced" it when he recapped it last year so.........
Sounds very nice ! the reverb is deep and smooth.

Yep I am needing a nice 4x10 cab next.

Good!...yep that rectifier tube is probably from around 1969,maybe the original,I wouldn't replace it,I've heard guys say they've tested Mullards that have been in use for decades that still test strong and have lots of life in them, the best along with Amperex that was made in Holland, same style.

Now the 6L6GC's are Tube art or whatever made in China, I will be finding a replacement soon !
A few good 12AX7's and two Jan Phillips 12AT7's and some sovteks too.

I'll bet with good bottles this girl will sing !!!!

So when did they stop the drip edge on the grill ???

It has two transformers dating 1968 and one 1969
Then the itty bitty reverb trany says 1968 also

I'll dig out my books and do a little reading tonight.

Hitt'n the sack !

Be sure to specify 16-ohm speakers when you start assembling that Super Reverb. "Real" SR's ran 8-ohm drivers to jive with the amp's 2-ohm OT, but the BMR's iron is wired for 4 ohms. You can often find new Mojotone cabs on Ebay for $230 or so. You'll need a set of 19-inch tilt-backs as well. I think Marsh Amplification has repro blackface Super Reverb front panels available......

Rawk on!

It was funny, I felt like a goofy star struck kid asking Mr E if we could take a picture together.

Arjay
so 16ohm X2 parallel the the two pairs wired toether in series = 4 ohms If I remember correctly ?

I'll get an in the chassis picture soon.

BB - Nice CL find. That's a helluva road trip. Was it 8 hrs one way or round trip?

That was round trip and included some shopping for the wife and daughter and a couple great meals in Amish territory.

For some crazy reason C/L is full of decent vintage finds right now.

O.K. gut shots
Looks like the cap job was done in 06 so its good to go for a good while.
The tech made loop connections for the spragues, next time will be super easy !

Here are the date codes from big iron all the way across to the little reverb tranny

606847, 606846, 606822, 606843
I would call that a 1968. no date code or circiut designation on the tube chart.
Looks like he modded the bias circuit back to a real bias controll pot.
The big iron has some goo top and bottom, got a bit heated at asome point, super quiet and sounds great so........
