Only two jobs in March, Reb.

Rebuilt the P/S in a DRRI, re-tube and re-bias on a '71 Bassman head.

(it was a slow month)

Yes but if you include all the help you gave me on the 67 bassman and the 68 bandmaster, then well ...........

Did not mean to cause any static by posting this! I too am a tube man. I would not dare to try to talk anyone out of using tube amps! Tube rules but I also appreciate SS. I have nine amps. Three are SS and six are tube. The vintage ones I have, two are tube, and one is SS.

No problem JACSTRAT......we have fun on posts like some here on this thread.

Right on dude!

I've noticed a drop in great vintage amps for sale around here as well...I guess people are hangin' tight for awhile to see what the economy does next. :(

"BS"?

I've repaired/reconditioned more Fender amps in the last year than you've owned in your entire life.

So you go ahead, cupcake.

Challenge away.

I don't care how many amps you've worked on. If you say something absurd like "Tube amps have more even order harmonics" or "Tube amps don't clip as harshly as SS amps" then I'll want to see the evidence.

OK sweetie?

Absurd is whiney poindexters whose experience level might fill a thimble, positing and pontificating about matters of which they know nothing.

And the "evidence" for that resides within your own comments.

Enjoy your silicon-and-particle-board monuments, pilgrim.

I'm getting a kick out of this war zone. Does anyone here know how to get the hum out of a version 1 Epi Valve Junior? With a booster in front of it, it can knock the nuts off a squirrel. I'd thought I'd bring that up since we got all this energy going on! Plus I really would like to cherry this little amp!

Noise gate

Any signal boost or Compressor will amplify hum.

Nature of the beast !

I've been playing for 35 years. Point out a single thing I've said that is factually incorrect.

Sure.

"Playing" is no surrogate for practical amp experience -- whether building them, repairing them, modding them, or restoring them.

You've stepped on your dick......again.
