Anybody familiar with a Fender "Slant 2-12" cabinet? (2) 8 0hm speakers, jacks for either stereo @16 ohms each, or mono at 4 ohms. Looks like a neat vertical profile for a 2 x 12 cab.

Might just work nicely with my little Vibro Champ XD....

I think those were part of the old RAD/JAM/M80 line from the late '80s or early '90s. Most had the gray-carpet covering and a pair of Fender-spec Eminence drivers. Could be worth a look-see since the impedance is a match.

I misremembered the spec.... should have said 8 ohm / 16 ohm - didn't make sense the way I typed it....

I've done a bunch of searching, but can't find this cab in any of the brochures I've found online. Found several 212's one with Eminence, and one with Celestion, but both are wider footprint with diagonal speaker placement. It is black Tolex, pretty interesting-looking.

Thanks for the response!

JB

A picture or two might help identify.

I saw a matched pair of these on the Phoenix C/L not too long ago. The seller was asking $200 apiece or $375 for both.

I bought the Slant 212 - Pretty nice vertical 212 (Made in USA no less)

I'd seen the HM Heavy Metal version with the fuzzzy carpet, but this is the first one of these (black Tolex) I've seen.

I will probably replace the speakers, leaning toward WGS "mixed pair". The cabinet is pretty well constructed of 3/4" birch ply. Sealed design, front-load (with tee-nuts).

Speakers were pretty well sun faded, so I tried the Parts Express "Wet Look" paint. Don't know yet how they'll sound, but they look a lot better!

I've got some "Blackface" grille cloth coming and some plated cabinet corners. Should make a pretty good-looking box.

Here are some pictures of the cab with and without drivers, and a before and after shot of the speakers. (first wet coat shown on one speaker)

But the logo!

It's so......tiny!

Couldn't they have made it bigger?
