I recently got a 1979-1980 Silverface Pro Reverb. It sounds great and everything functions great. It's got a decent sized hole in the grille cloth and the tolex on the edges and on the bottom is pretty beat. I kind of prefer the "well used" look but I am considering replacing the grille cloth and possibly the tolex at some point. My question is what type of cloth was used. I see replacement material that comes silver sparkle with torquise stitching and silver sparkle with blue weaved into it. I don't see any of either in the grille cloth thats on the amp but on the very edges of the grille between the grille and the cab there are a few strands of torquise material. Just wondering if anyone new which one the amp came originally with. The replacement silver with blue looks less pronounced than the silver with torquise. Or should I just leave it the way it is? Its got character for sure. Also I need a footswitch to operate the Vibrato. From what I've read, players haven't had good luck with the reissue switches from Fender. Its a 2 button vib/rev dome type switch. Any suggesions other than finding an original on ebay?

Likely your amp used the silver/white/metallic-turquoise weave -- very similar to the cloth found on 69-73 Fenders. None of the available repro cloths from anybody is correct (apparently they all buy from the same textile mill producing this stuff). In mid-year 1980, Fender abandoned the metallic-turquoise cloth and reverted back to a quasi-blackface weave (silver/white/black) which would be more appropriate to the blackface front-panel motif that Fender also re-adopted shortly thereafter.

Cutting to the chase......you are SOL. Your only hope may be to find a piece of vintage cloth that somebody "harvested" from an amp of similar vintage which was parted out.
