T2Stratman, Here are the photos of my Beater Super Reverb! From the looks of the numbers on chasis and transformer, I believe it to be a1976. The chasis is from early 1973! This is from info I've read on different sites! Here are some pics!

The reverb tranny's EIA code indicates that the part was manufactured in the 45th week of 1976. Your amp is likely one of the last tube-rectified Super Reverbs made before the changeover to the 70-watt ultra-linear model.

Thank you, I appreciate you confirming that! I got to get two more speakers for it! It is beat up but sounds pretty nice.

JACSTRAT...Nice looking amp...cab and grill cloth are in fine shape. And having one of the last tube rectifiered ones is pure bonus! Once you find a couple of speakers, it will be a complete and fine combo. All we have to ask is "Who is Dean" :?:

Thank you for complimenting my old beater SR. Dean is a very good friend of mine that I purchased the amp from. I'll take a picture of a guitar stand he created out of old medical gear, and post it on here. The stand has his signiture on it. I want to get his blessing before I start posting too many of his creations on here. As soon as he calls me back I'll post a photo of the stand on here. As a rule he likes to stay low key, I'm pretty sure he'll OK it. He does some excellent work with metal and wood also. I'll see if he wants me to post some of that, at least the stuff he has not sold yet. Alot of his art always has kind of a western theme to it. I don't want to get everyone's attention going yet! LOL!

You do realize that you've high-jacked the thread of one of this forum's elder statesmen and an all-around good guy......right?

:?

I'm just a new kid on the block and I'm not trying to high-jack anybodys' deal! I'm just trying to share with all here! I do not want to thread on grounds I should not be on! If I have the blessing of all I would love to show off some simple inventions. I just got a call from Leaner Dean, and as I was reading this to him I spotted this response. I won't post any photos, unless I have my fellow member's blessings. Especially, any elder statemen. My friend gave me the green light to post the stand if anyone is interested in seeing it! This is a great forum and I don't want to make anyone uptight!

No harm - no foul, JS.

We usually start a new thread when a new subject is brought forth for discussion (or argument, as the case may be).

Rawk on!

LOL!

If I'd been possessed of such political finesse during my time in uniform I'd have retired as a Command Sergeant Major.

Sometimes good things come to those who wait. It has been just about a year since I scored my 1965 BFSR and when I got it, there were a couple of miscreant speakers loaded to it. This past week I finally scored the final replacements of the correct type and vintage. I actually found three of the correct vintage so now I have two extras (I found one other speaker a few months back). So a before shot...
Image
And now the replacements...and some fine sounding ones they are!
Image
Of course I had to remove the chassis to get to that last nut...
Image
This was another nice short project and I have Arjay to thank...I scowered Ebay and CL for this past year trying to find the right ones...and Arjay finds some that were misslabeled as Oxfords with a great price on em, so I snapped them up after a short push from Arjay!
