Beemer, I have a Powerstat and a Hammond iso trans. It's just not convenient to use for the "55 Valco. So i'm thinkin' about a new PT. The amp is a single ended guy, (2) 6SN7, (1)6V6, and a 5Y3. Any suggestions are welcome! Art

Go for the Hammond SE PT for the Champ. Model 291AX:

Should do you quite well... Good luck with that!

Talked with Mercury Magnetics today. Apparently, If I send them the original PT & OT, they'll build clones to the specific specs. They will build in the compensation to account for today's wall voltage. The turn-around is 3 weeks and the projected price for both X formers is reasonable. Let you know how this turns out. Art

I found an interesting article on that Mercury Magnetics site about vintage amps and modern wall voltages. According to this guy, the transformer in a vintage fender amp will probably be alright. The problem is the capacitors. Fifty or sixty year old caps should probably be changed anyway.

Hey Jaurr, I've always found it advantageous to make the phone call, and talk it over about your partiular situation. Whether it's tubes, tranformers, amps or guitars. JMHO, Art
