It seems my SFPR now has more treble than it did and does not sound as full. It has new tubes properly biased.

Any thoughts?

It maybe an output tube bias issue. But, it sounds more like a weak gain stage (12AX7) or bad coupling cap. Try another 12AX7 in the input and phase inverter postions. Tubes on far right (looking at the back of amp) & the one next to the first 6V6GT.

Might as well check the idle bias of the 6V6GT, just in case.

Good luck!

cold bias = thin sound.
