NOS black plate TungSol 6K6GT would be primo! I like Sylvania (bit cleaner highs) & RCA (warmer mid). They are all great tubes.

OK Boss, got the 1meg in the unit, this afternoon. Forgot I had a nice 7025 Mullard in there. So the insurance policy is really cool. Thanks Beemer! Art ... Hey my Italian tube is quite nice, Voila!( don't know is that Italian?)

Art, think Voilà! is French. Maybe "Perfetto!" Does your 6K6GT look like this? I only have a photo of the gray glass Pope 6V6GT. Some were made in France, some in Belgium, some in Holland, and the dark gray glass ones in Italy. They are very good tubes. If you have a grey glass 6K6GT, consider yourself very lucky!

Enjoy!

Actually, it's more like black. Think, Sophia Loren in black! I don't know, but it's plenty strong. Haven't AB'd it with the Raytheon. So far it's sweet enough for me ! Art

That's a Pope. Dark black to the point you can barely see the plates. A very good tube. built by Philips owned factory in Northern Italy (near Modena, I hear... home of some cars with a horse logo). :D
