Ever since the '60's, if I used two older Fender amps at once, I plugged into input 1 of one amp, then ran a cord from input 2 of the same channel in the first amp into input 1 of the second amp. I've always wondered if this was okay to do - I never had any trouble doing it. Is it okay to do that in and out of an older amp and into the single input of a modern amp like a Super Sonic?

Red, that's okay to do. The second amp is just recieving a smaller input signal. I think Morley makes a Y box, that sends the same signal to each amp. Art

I use a Radial BigShot ABY for this, and it's great to have 1 amp, the other, or both going. The radial has transformer isolation and 180-degree phase flip if needed. Built like a tank. Worth the $70.

Good point, Nedo. I forgot about the possibility of the amps being out of phase with each other. Yeah, ground loops can also be present. Art

I use a Bigshot ABY with two amps for exactly these reasons.

Yeah Red, Nedo and Bluesky are all over this. You're not going to hurt the amps in the old style hook-up. But they're advice is spot on! Art

Can you run from a Line/Recording out to a rackmount effects and then to the other amp?
