Got a great deal on this amp ($10) with power supply. Except that it needs a new 6-inch speaker (hole in cone from careless screwdriver----grille is ok). Will the ceramic and/or alnico 6-inch Weber Signature speaker fit in this amp?

Gonna hide this amp and my Steinberger Spirit in my locker, at work. Anyone have the 1990's version of this guitar with the EMG pickups? Quite a range of tone for a little guitar.

Thanks!

You can try to repair hole in the cone first. There are many recipies. Mine is paper toilet piece with light silicione coat over the hole.

Stratele, Thanks for the links. I'd love to be able to read Italian to see how that guy fixed that incredible mess of a speaker. It'd be nice if the YT had a demo of the tone after fixing and painting.

You know, I've used black construction paper and silicon sealer. And was always embarassed to admit it. Let alone make a YT of it. But, I notice that the tone does change a bit. Esp at volume. Seems that tears closer to the VC have more effect on the tone.

Anyhow, will check out this speaker when I get the amp. It could be that the paper is brittle just from age and use. What would you recommend, it that case? It is a 1970's portable amp, that prolly has seen it's share of Nature and electrical abuse---just my guess.

Much thanks! Worth a try.

You can read italian with Google Translation . No kidding, I use it very often and the result is good enough.

BMW that's how I'd fix it. The construction paper method.
I've had my Pignose since they first came out. My Serial numbers in the low five thousands.
Great little amps. Lots of fun too. You can probably get a new speaker from them directly, but it might cost you more than what you paid for the amp.

I patched the hole with a little black construction paper and silicone sealer. Man this is some little amp. My old Telecaster can easily overdrive it, with the lid closed. I think my Les Paul would blow the amp up.

But, the tone is pretty clean with lid open. Amazing bass for such a small amp (size of a small shoe box). Mine is a mid-1970's model. Better than a whole lotta practice amps I've heard over the years. For an SS amp---very tubey sounding. And ten times easier to toke around.

Very retro-cool looking, too.
