I have a 67 blackface bassman that's 50 watts 4 ohms. I just ordered a 2x12 Fender Vibro King 4 ohms, 140 watts with celestion vintage 30 speakers. I think I'm okay cause I have a 4 ohm head and soon a 4 ohm cab.

I'm going for a classic rock, punk rock overdrive tone. I have a boss overdrive pedal which is where I'll be getting the overdrive from sincee I can't crank the amp here.

You'll be fine.

V30's and a vintage Fender head work well together.

I'm concerned about blowing the speakers. The cab is 140 watts with two vintage 30 8 ohm 60 watt speakers. The most I had the volume up at was 8. So I'm okay cranking it?

So the guys at guitar center told me wrong again? I specifically asked them if it would work for a 50 watt 4 ohm blackface bassman before I got the cab and they said it should work. I thought it would to cause the cab said it was 140 watts, but we didn't think about the speakers. I later read the cab had 2x12 8 ohm 60 watt speakers, and since I'm new I don't know if that is bad or alright since the cab says 140 watts.

A joke, meaning that if you exceeded the 140 watt rating it would be so loud that you would go deaf.

The amp only produces 50 watts, and the speakers can handle up to 140 watts (or 120?). Typically you want the speakers to be able to handle more power than the amp can produce, so a 50 watt amp would use 50 watt and higher speakers. The amp supplies the power, the speakers have to be able to take it.
