For those of you ppl that have struggled for years with not-so-good de-soldering wicks & solder suckers--- this item is light-years ahead of anything else out there. Maybe if you are good, Santy will bring you one. Works very good on PCB circuit boards, too.

+1

A hundred and seventy-nine bucks will buy a lot of de-soldering wick!

Once you use this puppy... you'll wonder why they even make solder braids and desoldering doo-dahs with big rubber bulbs. Be a good boy for Santa or treat the little lady to something special--- dropping hints all over the place, of course.

Darn thing is worth it's weight in Kester 60/40....

I use the Soldapullt desoldering tool; the big blue one. Be careful about asian copy. Work great on point to point amp and also on most of the printed circuit

Love the "OL-111 O-Ring Lube" part, for some perverted reason. How long do these units last?

That Hakko 808 is so much fun, I decided to redo the solder points in my Sony Bravia 55-inch TV. Ok... just maybe a little bit of an exaggeration.

Piss poor demo. Except the idea of desoldering a bunch of pin-mounted component from a board and pulling the component clean off the board, without having to yank the bee-jeebers or overheat the tracings. Hakko stuff is always so expensive, but they do work well. Esp on boards.
