Sounds good, Dave.

Just be sure to buy press-on knobs -- the type that uses a set screw will not work.

Rawk on!

Well,..i gave her the full test today with my deluxe strat And, shes not too bad. For one thing, The sound is pretty nice for solid state and this amp is LOUD with both master and volume full crank. Pull the boost on master and all hell breaks loose ! it gets REALLY LOUD. and nice and gritty not like a wannabe metal crunch like other solid state amps with overdrive. but, it is not touch sensitive on playing like my tube amps. if i soft pick notes while riffing, they dont ring out or ring very low unlike my tube amps which will ring out the note no matter if i soft pick notes or slam them during riffing. no biggie. As for the reverb, It is not really bad at all i have to crank reverb knob up about halfway to get the reverb that i want whereis, on my vibro champ or my deluxe reverb, just 2 or 3 on the dial gives a lot of reverb (but i knew this being a solid state and such a small tank and all) but, i am glad the reverb works. nice bass response too. Anyway, i have small problem tho. With amp turned on and, no cable plugged in with both master and volume up a little bit, there is a small buzzing like a ground problem in the input stage. it is not really loud but, does get louder as you crank up the master and main volume controls, if i plug guitar in, the buzz is still there wether i touch any metal on the guitar or not but, if i turn the vol knob on guitar all the way down, the buzz is gone. the amp goes quiet. Also, i have a really low static like noise from amp that pops up here and there and, if i put my fingers on the strings and rub up and down the strings, it makes a static noise...not loud or anything, but it is there. i tried my epi 335 thru it and get the same thing. i would like to correct this but i cannot find a schematic which would help me fix it quicker but, all in all, i really like this amp..it is a keeper.

Windex or 409 spray cleaner.

Remove the grill frame or baffle board if possible or dismount the speaker before you begin. Lightly spritz the cloth then gently wipe in a circular motion with a clean soft rag (loop-pile terrycloth is a good choice). Repeat as necessary and allow to air-dry before reattaching to the amp. Do not use a hair dryer, sunlamp, or any other artifices to accelerate the drying process.

Thanx again arjay. The 409 did a nice job. Anyway, i had some time yesterday to work on the amp (the buzzing problem) i noticed that the ground loop also was thru the chassis and, whoever owned it before cut the ground pin off of the plug. so, after going thru everything, i came to the conclusion that mabye grounding the chassis would solve it. So i replaced the power cord with a new one (3 prong) and, that solved the buzzing problem..HOT DAMN !! This amp sounds killer (and im not a big fan of solid state either) with the master pulled back and the main volume full up, it does not heavy distort like other amps but more like a driven strat sound..i love it. And, it's a lot louder than i thought it would be.i prob could keep up with a drum kit pretty easily. I will send one more picture of it after i get my new knobs on it. Once again, thanks arjay for your help.

You're quite welcome, dave......it's why we're all here.

Good catch on that grounding issue.

"Diamonds in the rough" sometimes polish up quite well, eh?

Rawk on!
