First off hi to everyone, I recently purchased a Fender Princeton Export it is in great condition and and looks to have never been gigged just home use. Everything works as it should and the tolex has no rips or scuffs. The only things i have found out so far is the model number on the Valve chart AA964, The serial number on the chassis which is A 072xx, The tubes also seem to be old and have U.S.A 6v6 GTA writen on the glass and Made in USA BJ on the plastic, all valves have RCA on them. I had this up on another forum but they removed it because of my email address?? But i did manage to find a couple of things out apparently the Alloy ring around the cloth helps to date it? (Pre 1970)? and that the chassis code is somewhere around 1964-69? Also they said it is rare to see this actual amp with Export writen on the face plate. Any more info would be great. and any questions please ask. Here is some links to Pictures of actual amp. Thankyou.

Your serial number does not jive with the amp's cosmetics......

http://www.superiormusic.com/page195.htm

As an "export" model this may be perfectly legitimate but to determine when this amp was actually assembled you'll need to inspect the EIA codes embossed on the transformers and ink-stamped on the speaker then compare what you find with the data published on the site I have linked to.

The amp's cosmetics date to 1969 or very early in 1970 -- no later than that as the cabinet is of the original construction, with a screw-in baffle board and lock-jointed corners.

So does that mean that the chassis may have originally been intended for a Blackface model in 1966 ish but whilst the factory change was going on it was left and got put together later on and ended up being a Silverface shipped out in 1969ish?

Both possible and probable.

The non-reverb Princeton's (like the basic Champ Amp) always seem to be Fender's "red-headed stepchild". Dealers newly franchised to sell Fender gear were required to take at least one as part of their initial shipment but few would actually order one beyond that unless a customer specifically requested one.

As an aside, my non-reverb Princeton dates to 1980......and most sources indicate that Fender never even made any that year.

Assuming the electronics are fully functional and the chassis is unmolested, it might command $900 to $1000 here in "the colonies".

First - Converting British Pounds to US Dollars. You paid $79.50 (USD) for this. Was a gun involved during the transaction? This is a steal for this amp.

My two cents worth about value......
According to the 2011 Vintage Guitar Price Guide, the non-reverb Princeton's are closer to $550-$675 (£315 to £380). If this were a Princeton Reverb - you're looking at the amount Retroverbial is giving you. Unless there is some sort of premium that the Export transformer brings to the mix.

The "EXPORT" marking on the front panel lends rarity to the type (I've only seen a paltry handful of these silverfaces so designated). The selectable line voltage switch and transformer broadens the amp's potential market base. It's also extremely clean for its age, which adds to the resale value as well. And I did specify "might".

That's that part that throws me off. I think you're boost of a couple hundred bucks to the "value" is reasonable.

And who won't want this for $79.50.

Well after playing this amp for a day or 2 it sounds absolutely amazing, I am used to Marshall and Blackstar valve amps and although the Fender can't do overdrive like them it kills them at the cleans. So what i would like to know is what Overdrive or Distortion pedal do u advise for a good heavy 80's rock tone?
