To test the theory of the PT having died between 220V and 240V I set the amp to 260V, figuring that if it would turn on, then the PT surely wouldn't have died there.

Sadly, the amp didn't turn when set to 260V. Even stranger: the amp won't turn on when set to 220V anymore either (and 240V also still doesn't work).

I think I'll first have to thoroughly check that voltage selector switch.

Used your amp that way don't buy a new power transformer

Your amp transformer; 220, wall outlet; 230

About the Fender vintage amp I talk before :
Vintage Fender transformer ; 110, wall outlet 120 to talk as your voltage we have to multiply by 2
Fender transf 110 X 2 =220 , wall outlet 120 X 2 = 240 Higher than your and they were used like that since 40 years

Thing to do;
1- Check heater voltage ; 6.3 volts AC normal specs
2- Check 6L6 's Bias

Ok, this might all be a lot easier than I thought. Today I opened up the amp and found that the power switch wasn't letting anything through in either position. I bypassed the power switch and the amp is working just fine, also at 240V! I guess the power transformer and voltage selector are both fine after all. I've ordered a replacement power switch and hope to have this amp back to normal soon.

(By the way, the power transformer in my 70 Watt Pro Reverb is a #013917, and not a #013895 like Mercury Magnetics told me.)
