As the seller mentioned, "museum quality".

Nice!

They're nice although I'm not really into tweeds.

It's kinda amazing how these OLD nearly unused tweeds are appearing at this late date (2011!!!).

Where were they 15-20 years ago, when I started this long Fender amp restoration journey? Wonder what kinda owners these were? Good to still them available.

I know,I'm not that much either...when you actually put them into a modern rock/blues band setup, they are very limited.I just have no desire to spend the cash for a vintage tweed, when most likely it would only get played at home.
The BF AB763 is the best imo,and the Browns have a good spot also in the right settings.

BMW...I think Tweeds like those pristine examples are just closet classics and were not used much by the original owners, found most likely in estate sales.

+1!

There's a legitimate claim to be made that all amp lines from all eras have made their mark on music as an industry -- Fender's various models, the Sunn's, the Marshall's, Acoustic, Vox, etc. But at the end of the day, I don't think any specific line has contributed more than Fender's blackface amps (to include the re-issues). Sure, the heavyweights like Keith Richards and Eric Clapton stake their fame and fortune to the tweeds and there's nothing wrong with that. But Keith Richards only has to sound like Keith Richards and Eric Clapton only needs to sound like Eric Clapton. For professional working stiffs like myself, we have to be able to cover them PLUS Slash, Rick Derringer, Ronnie Montrose, Buddy Holly, Henry Garza, Robert Cray, Tom Petty, Hendrix, and any other guitarist from any band whose songs happen to be on the play list. And IMO no single amp offers that versatility (disregarding those gimmicky modeling platforms) like the Fender blackfaces.

(discuss amongst yourselves......)

Hehe, "Gimmicky modeling platforms" aint that the truth, went to Sam Ash yesterday, those kids, what a freaking nightmare. And the guy working there is telling me the "Fender tremolo arm tension springs" basically only exist in my head. I laughed, turned around and left thinking he had better concentrate on selling some of those Ibanez that cover the walls.

I once observed a "sales counselor" at a GC extolling the virtues of a Hot Rod Deluxe to some zit-popper. During the demo he unplugged the input cable, maxxed the amp's volume, tone, and master controls which made it sound for all the world like a basketful of incensed cobras at a New Delhi bazaar. Then he tells the kid "Listen to that......that's the sound of power!"

Agree the blackface are an important part of Fender's sound, and certainly versatile. Does that mean I wouldn't want a lower-wattage tweed for playing at home? No way!

Gear Acquisition Syndrome knows few bounds; I'm figuring how to rearrange my music room to get rid of some old rack furniture, consolidate recording gear and have space for... more amps. A Tweed princeton or deluxe would be fun, but as you pointed out, not really great for gigging.

A brownface also would be great to have with that chewy vibrato that's different from its blackface brethren; then I'd have the 3 different Fender flavors.

Got to keep it down to 1 amp purchase a year, and would like to find the ones that either cosmetically or inside have been wrecked and then rehab them back to health...
