Is the tranny also marked with "125P23B" or "025130"?

If not, it's not a Fender part for an AB763 Deluxe Reverb.

The EIA manufacturer's code gives me pause as I've never seen one formatted quite like that -- normally a Shumacher tranny reads "606-XXX" or "606-X-XX", ie: six digits only.

I'd presume that yours (if the number is correct) was made in the 7th week of 1965, but that gives rise to another question since trannies that early after the sale of Fender to CBS would still be carrying the FEIC part number of "125P23B".

Is this amp an export model with a voltage selector in place of the AC convenience outlet on the rear panel? Can you post a pic of the tranny?

It is not a export model, there is a bit of varnish buildup on bottom , could you tell the best way to clean it up , just want to make certain of these numbers. there seems to be a J prefix to the first set thanks, j025130 606 5071 -7 csa test could this be a newer tranny maybe 1971? 50th week

No -- a Woodward Shumacher tranny from the 50th week of '71 would be marked "606-150" or "606-1-50".

I wouldn't obsess over an oddball tranny number -- if the amp otherwise sounds fine, then it is. Enjoy it.

As well, it's inadvisable to try cleaning "varnish" or nicotine stains from a chassis. That discoloration is known as "mojo". And people pay huge sums of lucre for it.

Thanks for the help Arjay, I'm with you as far as if it sounds good it is good and these amps need to be enjoyed not looked at, just trying to figure this one out
Is there anything definitive that might distinguish this from a seventies vs very late 67 transformer? this one has cloth wiring. thanks for the input

The "025130" is an FMI (CBS era) part number. Beyond that, I couldn't say with certainty.
