Just got back from a deal. for $100 I got:
18" Maxwin bass drum
14" pearl export floor tom (missing bottom hoop)
14" Zyn splash cymbal
broken but functional DW4000 kick pedal
Yamaha hi hat stand (missing clutch)
heavy-duty Yorkville mike stand

and a Fender 2-12 200 watt keyboard amp. I bought this gear to donate to the community center I work at, we're starting a jam night for people age 12-18. we literally have nothing at this point in time and we're kinda on our own as far as getting gear. the guy threw in the amp and said it sorta works. I plugged it and the light goes on and it makes noise. beyond that I'm completely lost when it comes to amps. I was told the first channel sometimes works, occasionally it craps out and you need to hit it, and the second channel is "F*cked".

my pictures are here: http://www.pearldrummersforum.com/showt ... 1853860970

1. is it worth it to fix it up? how much would this cost to fix? I would get someone else to fix it for me.
2. what can this amp be used for? I was told this amp can function as a PA. true?
3. in working condition, what would this amp sell for? in the condition

Yeah, it's a Fender Keyboard amp all right. The lower speaker that faces off to the side (if I'm seeing it right) would indicate that this amp has those 3-D stereo effects. Those are pretty cool - it's like wherever you stand in the room, you get the full stereo effect like both speakers were facing straight at you. I've heard one with stereo reverb and it is cool - it would be awesome for organ with a good Leslie simulator - like the Ventilator. I have a Fender KXR 200 which is a 200rms keyboard amp with a 15" and two HF horns. It has to be one of the loudest amps I've ever heard - I got it years ago when I was in a band with a couple guitar players who each had two twins - I had no trouble keeping up with them. I don't use the amp much anymore 'cause it is unbelievable heavy and at highest volume the highs can get shrill, but it is a great amp and, yes, you can use it for a PA to sing through or play acoustic guitar, etc. If you can fix your's and you got some piano or organ players around, I'd go for it!
