I got a Victoria 518. When I turn it up past 9 I'm getting buzz on certain notes, first 3 frets on low E string and E note on A string at the 7th fret. And 3rd fret D string. I took the both back panels off and it seemed to get a little less noticeable. The chassis, wiring, and tubes, and all other compontents a solid and don't move. I'm just wondering if the noise is cabinet buzz, although the Victoria website says "solid finger jointed pine for no cabinet buzz" or speaker farting out? It has the Jensen P8R reiusse. I contacted Mark Baier and he said try sticking a heavy Fender pick between the panel and chassis, I tried this but it didn't help anything.

Have you tried isolating the source of the buzz by connecting the amp to a different speaker in a different enclosure?

Not yet cause I didn't think if it would make a difference cause I don't think it's anything electronic.

You have three separate areas, any of which could be the source of the problem -- the amp, the speaker, and the cabinet. I would isolate each component and play these portions separately to diagnose precisely where the issue lies. Logical deduction and elimination will eventually reveal what's wrong and why.

I've seen that mentioned in other forums about Victorias and other tweeds....those cabinets seem to be pretty "lively"...and prone to buzz. I've seen the "pick wedge" tightener mentioned also,it might need something heavier to stop it....try hooking to another speaker cabinet like Arjay mentioned to see if it stops.

hooked to a bigger cab there was a buzz but I think it was something in my room because it sounded different.
It's gotta be the combo cause it's worse with the back panels on

If you are positive that the cabinet is the culprit, you should request that Victoria send you a new one. Their products are guaranteed for life.

I think the guarantee is only if you are original owner and I'm not

They may still honor the warranty -- it couldn't hurt to try.

Best of luck, HTH
