Hello
Can anyone tell me where I might obtain a set of chrome amp tilt back legs for a 70's Fender twin amp. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
John

I got a couple sets pretty quickly through Guitar Center - reasonable prices.

+1

Many Ebay vendors also sell the tilt-back legs.

You'll need the 16-inch size for a Twin Reverb amp.

Best of luck, HTH

Original legs should always be used when restoring a vintage Fender amp since they feature the "PAT. PEND." roll-mark and are stamped with a serial number......

The serial numbers (one leg only of a matched pair) were discontinued in mid/late '67 but the patent inscription continued into the 1969 model year.

Ideally yes, however I restored the amp for a friend and he wanted all brand new hardware to go with the new Tolex and grill cloth. The amp was trashed and missing parts when he brought it to me to bring it back to life. Here it is before I got the name plates put on.

Thanks! It's a '64.

Not only was it cosmetically re-done but the Oxford speakers were re-coned plus the usual re-cap and re-tube. It had been severely neglected and then stored in a metal storage shed for a number of years. Everything inside and out was rusty. The trannies were still good as well as everything on the board. It is quiet as a church mouse and sounds as good as my '65 that I bought new and still use in my band. It looks almost as good and is completely original minis tubes and filter caps.

Whoever handled the cosmetics definitely knew what they were doing. I've got Bandmasters from years '66, '67, and '68......great amps!

Rawk on!
