Any thoughts on making the pull boost better and making the tremolo stronger on the SFPR.

Pull boost - don't bother. I have a 77 PR and the pull-boost was and is a horrible gimmick Fender added to try and do a feature for free. If you want boost, find a good boost or overdrive pedal to hit the input harder.

Tremolo - what specifically about the tremolo do you not like? I have mine as stock and it's plenty strong. On the Princeton Reverb, the preamp tube driving the tremolo needs to be a good high gain 12AX7 - I'd try replacing the tube with a good Mullard reissue.

Thanks.

I will try another tube.

The amp sure sounds sweet though.

+1

The pull-boost feature is about as useful as a condom dispenser in the canteen of a women-only prison facility. A Pro Co Rat, Digitech Bad Monkey, or Fulltone OCD will give you a more flexible tone array and a beefier kick when you need it.

Don't overlook the green tube screamer also for some O/D...I've used it for years with good results.

The TS9 is also a tasty OD, especially those Keeley-modded versions.

Arjay, I can vouch for that Keeley-modded TS-9. Great range. And when you hit bypass---it's actually bypasses the box.

I have the Keeley modded TS9 as well - love it with my Princeton Reverb, but not as much on the Weber-equipped Bandmaster. Haven't had the pedal home to try out with the showman and the new Warehouse speakers, but could be a fun match.

Other great pedals to add bark to that PR are Barber's Direct Drive, and Paul Cochrane's Timmy. I own all three and they're great.

settings (geez, i'm giving it all away) - not that much overdrive.
Keeley TS9 - drive 9:00, tone 2:00, vol 3:00
Barber - Drive 9:00, tone pulled & 1:00, volume to match clean sound
Timmy - slight treble cut, dirt @ 8:00 (7 being off) and volume to match.
