I have a super six,
and it has given me no problems until last night...It just quit! No little red light, no hum, nothing. I unplugged it, checked the fuse, replaced it, and started it up again only this time I had a hum that progressively got louder. I looked over the top and 2 of the 6l6s were glowing quit a bit more than the other 2 tubes and then it quit again. After checking the fuse again, sure enough it had blown. I have it home now and have pulled the head out of the cab just to see if I could notice anything that looked wrong or burnt...This is my first tube amp and not sure how long the tubes have been in it...so is this common? do I need to replace the 6l6s or take out a lone to have something repaired???

Sounds like you might have one, maybe two, power tubes (6L6GC) shorting out. Find a tech with a tube tester and check all of them out. If all is ok. Could have bias power supply issues. Or poor contact with the sockets.

Good Luck! Keep us informed.

Just remember to be REAL CAREFUL poking around the insides of your amp, there's lethal voltage in places even while it's unplugged!

Unlikely that two 6L6's on the same leg of the output stage would simultaneously fry. I'd take a good hard look at that output-tubes matching circuit. The bias supply also merits close inspection. And it's probably time to replace the filter caps as well (if it hasn't been done recently).
