Real nice pic there RS! Great story too.
Must be nice around the kitchen table when you two pick up a guitar!

Enjoy the times!

Reb - was this at an open mic night?

Cherish the moments. I am officially an "empty nester" (hate that term) as of the weekend.

He is my youngest son of three boys and is 26 years old....,I live alone and enjoy the freedom to do what I want and buy lots of vintage gear. so there's nobody at home to complain except me when I leave late and come in at the break of dawn.
He gigs on a regular basis as a solo with acoustic or with at least one or two bands....a real musician...who isn't on the road, sleeps during the day and plays at night...this night I sat in with a band he has with a drummer and bassist.
I'm going to start playing more with them, probably not doing all the sets but 2 or 3 hours worth when I can....he plays the type of music I love, and this night there was a lot of Hendrix,Allman Brothers, some ZZ Topp,Free, and other classics with a few by Pearl Jam and Tonic...some bands I don't know of but have heard the songs.
It's a lot of fun and the crowd loves it and some of them have been following him around since middle school....lots of them grew up in my house. :D

...that's a '57 Reissue Strat Ocean Tourqoise(sp?) with a set of Lindy Fralin Blues Specials that I installed,it's a great sounding Strat, and he loves the way it plays...I laugh when I see people remark on the forums that a vintage style neck with small frets and a 7.25 radius is hard to play bends on.... he wears it out....never giving it a thought,he knows that the feel and tone of a guitar is where it's at.
His older clean cut,40hr. a week, brothers give him the..."get a real job" routine whenever they can.
I say,"go for it". 8)

I have a childhood friend - more my brother's friend - who at 54/55 is still playing drums for a local band in St. Louis. He has a "day job (he's doing alright)" but still gets out each weekend to beat the skins. Music has certainly been good to him. As long as your son is having fun and meeting his obligations - who cares. 8) :D

(The link is to the band's facebook page - they nixed their website and use FB to communicate with the local fans. Meaning you need to have a facebook account to view their page)

He's got a beautiful Strat, Reb. And a swell amp for sure!
