tremolo is great!!!! Reminds me of my dad's dads 1967 vibrolux reverb that i used to play through all the time. i'd mess around with the tremolo speed and intensity and i'd just have some fun with it :) good times :!:

Perhaps, you should try an old brownface or blonde amp. I believe many of the ones with an "-A" after the circuit type: {6G(_)-A}* have the three tube driven vibrato/tremolo section. Plus an added knob for Presence, to boot. Their tremolo is crazy-@ss good. Tone has wider range than the opto-coupler circuit Fenders. IMHO

* outta curiosity, the Tremolux and Vibrolux of this era didn't seem to have three 12AX7 driven tremolo/vibrato. Prolly would have required bigger power supply and more $$$ than target market. Just a WAG.

All of the "Professional Series" brownface combo amps introduced in 1960 were designed around the "harmonic tremolo" circuit. That is, the 6G4 Super, the 6G5 Pro, the 6G7 Bandmaster, the 6G12 Concert, and the 6G13 Vibrasonic. The "student" models -- which encompassed the Princeton, Deluxe, and Vibrolux -- retained Leo's original single-tube bias-modulated trem. Initially, the harmonic tremolo utilized two tubes, with a third bottle added later on (which engendered a designation revision, adding an "A" to each of the respective nomenclatures). The johnny-come-lately 6G16 Vibroverb also used the bias-wiggle circuit since so much of its chassis's landscape was already consumed by the two extra tubes required for the reverb's driver and recovery architecture.

You know kid,I've tried to put up with your fantasy crap on the other forums here, you're only 13 years old..and really weren't even a gleam in your old man's eyes when we were playing through real Leo Fender made amps and guitars...this vintage forum is for people who know what we're talking about...you don't walk the walk....so don't get off trying that B/S here...tellin' Arjay to try something will get you blasted.
If you really want to learn something from the pros, learn to listen and don't blow smoke...we will teach you if you want...it's up to you.

Steady, Reb......remember your blood pressure.

As for a Jazzmaster through a Custom Vibrolux Reverb -- sorry, sport. Neither are my "cup of Lipton".

Those young whippersnappers!..
I get grouchy in the morning after seeing my son play until 2:00,who by the way has been wearin' out a guitar since he was 10 years old and now has 16 years of experience...and with my ears ringin' like a fire alarm....(and maybe with a slight hangover) to even begin to read comments of someone wet behind the ears....I'll be okay...taking a deep breath and a sip of black coffee.
I just had to add this one from last night...my son doing the "behind the head move" on a Hendrix tune...he can actually play the hell outta that '57 RI like that,I was very mediocre at best when trying that stuff.

If PBR is what Reb was drinking that might explain the hangover!

Hey, lighten up.

Pabst was a regular staple in The Nam. That, and 3.2 Oly!
