I recently unearthed these from a storage unit at my parents house and I want to use them for something but I'm not sure what.

Original speakers are all intact and seem to "kind of" work; theres a lot of noise and the output is fairly intermittent and not great.

I'm a professional bassist and would entertain the idea of such unique looking cabs onstage but not sure if it would be worth it to gut the cab and put in new speakers. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

These are the speaker columns from Fender's 67-69 105-watt solid-state PA4100 PA system. The columns each contain four 10-inch 32Ω CTS alnico speakers, voiced for vocals and guitar. I would not deem them suitable for bass or keyboard amplification, nor the cabinets that house them.

If my memory serves me right, those are from the mid to late sixties Solid State PA speaker cabs. I think the speakers are 32ohm jobs. Maybe Retrobverial will come along and have some more information. I think the speakers are 10 inch Alnico CTS's and if they are they are worth reconing to 8ohms for use with guitar. Since you play bass not sure how well they would work...but wouldn't look too shabby up on a stage.

If you still have those speakers and are interested in selling them, please let me know. I would be interested in buying them. I have the amp, but would like to get the matching speakers. I had a set of these in the sixties and would like to have them again.
