Hey,
Just picked up 68 deluxe reverb, went over last week tried it was great then some smoke came out around the transformer. Should I replace tranny and see what happens? Got $100.00 in it so far.

which transformer smoked?? OT or PT.
I wouldn't just R and R the suspect tranny until you find out why there was smoke. There are some great sites with guys who know way more than I do. Ampsnmore.com and ampworkshop too. check them out.

The smoke may have been from a burnt up tube or another component inside the amp. Just as a note there are very high voltages inside and amp so if you are unfamiler with this stuff be very careful and gets some help.

Good Luck!!
