getting ready to start thinking (and saving) up for tubes and figured I'd ask opinions from you guys. Here's what I'm thinking - open to comments, suggestions, etc.

V1 - Mullard Reissue 12AX7 (don't use Channel 1 that much)
V2 - JAN GE 12AX7WA, balanced triodes or NOS RCA 12AX7A
PI - Mullard CV4024
Trem - Mullard Reissue 12AX7 (not an important tube slot)
Power - Winged C SED 6L6GC, Matched Quartet

Let me know your thoughts or how you'd tube it up.

Thanks!

We;d need a little more information and pictures to give you a ballpark, or you can go on ebay and search "showman" in completed listings to get an idea of what people are paying on ebay.

Here's a link to a set of Showman speaker cab plans, nedo......

http://cgi.ebay.com/Fender-Guitar-Cabin ... 4aacf84044

I've bought many cab kits from this vendor in the past -- his products are quality throughout.

Of course. My guy got the amp tonight, and whomever had it before me almost seemed to use it as a test bed of how many mods can you do before the amp stops working or you shock someone to death...

we'll see. Still on the lookout for a 1x15 Showman cab as well. Have been looking on eBay, Craigslist; etc. would like an original before going to someone to make a replica. Any thoughts would be welcome.

Amp is done and is being shipped back... will post before/after pics later tonight. My guy had to pretty much gut the tagboard, pots, jacks and start over.

Can't wait; will be ordering a Mojotone 2x12 and Warehouse G12C speakers (amp was voiced for them over current Weber, older Fender, JBL, Jensen, Oxford, CTS) - would have liked the Kendrick Black Frames, but a little rich for my blood right now... they were the only one that sounded slightly better, but at their price, not in the cards...

Here is the before and after pictures. Some idiot was doing all kinds of dumb mods and wiring with cheap crud components and wiring. Amp is now back to AB763, like when it was built in 1965, as Leo intended.

What the wiring looked like unclose; vibrato circuit completely GONE to try and add more gain.

Worst excuse for filter caps EVER

Clean house - everything must go

Correct Filter caps

Correct AB763 layout

Some of the junk taken out

Enjoy. I know I will. Now on the hunt for either a 2x12 Bandmaster cab or the 1x15.

No matter......your tech's done an outstanding job of straightening out the mess, Nedo.
