I posted this in the lounge, but I guess this would be the better place to post.
There is a red and a gray wire running to and from the reverb, does it matter which is connected to the input and which to the output? The reason I ask on my Twin the red is connected to the input, but on my Deluxe ReverbII the red is connected to the output. What kinds of problems could a reverse connection cause? I never touched the connections so as far as I know that's the way they came from the factory. The twin recently was recapped and retubed, but I'm sure the tech knows what he's doing so I can't imagine him mixing them up.
Thanks for any responses.

Is the reverb currently operating correctly?

You can safely reverse input / ouput reverb wire. You heard less or no reverb on the wrong connexion.

Arjay, the twin works great, very weak on the deluxe, but I thought maybe the driver or recovery tube was getting weak.
Thanks everybody for the replies,

But as joncarr write the red should go to the input. On your Deluxe, it go to the output. This not your problem ?

Why looking for bad tube ? Reverse wire first , Why are you wasting time, I said that to you 10 hours before.

Reversed the wires no change. If I understand you right on the deluxe II the red should go to the output?
Thanks for the reply.

joncarr, thanks for the picture. I switched the wires reverb still weak, so I'll look elsewhere for the problem.
Thanks,

It's a Deluxe Reverb II, a 1982 Rivera era model. Nice little amp, I really like it. It was one of Fender's first channel switching amps. I bought it because I was tired of lugging my Twin Reverb around, it weighs a ton, but I really liked the tone from the Deluxe II.
Thanks for the help,
filerj

I would change V3 & V4. these are the ones looking at it from the back.the third and forth from the right. More then likely its a tube problem

Some of us here can heartily empathize with that sentiment!

I've seen pictures of some of yours Arjay and I noticed the one had JBL's in it, so I know you know what it's like to carry one of those around. Funny thing though, in my 20's it didn't seem to be as heavy as it is now. I think like me it gained some weight with age  . It is the best sounding clean amp I ever played through, but it shatters the walls if you turn it up to try and get any tube overdrive. I'm going to replace the tubes in the Deluxe II because it's been a few years and if that doesn't solve it I guess it's back to the tech.
Thanks for all the help guys,
filerj

+1!

Actually, both of mine are JBL-equipped......factory-original orange-basket D120F's in the '78 silverface, K120's in the '65 re-issue. I also gig periodically with a blackface Dual Showman set, with its pair of JBL D130F's. It's a skosh more manageable as a separate head and cab, much like my '64 Vibroverb and my Spankmaster Reverb (both also with 15-inch JBL's).
