Hello my friends and experts ,Uall know me by owning a 1967 fender pro reverb, 1967 deluxe reverb blackface. Now to add to my collection Ive purchases a 1965 fender twin reverb vintage of coarse, My question is about the reverb tank Inoticed after pulling out the current reverb tank thats in this old machine that it wasnt the original. On ebay there is a vintage GIBBS 1966 REVERB TANK HAMMOND GUITAR, Thats what the ebay ad says . It also says its from an organ.Im not sure if its comppatible with my 65 twin reverb? Would anyone know? This old twin had these naylor speakers in them and I got ahold of original1966 jensens now this twin reverb sounds fantastic, even that current tank thats in it sounds pretty good!! Id like to get this baby back to originality. Although they are 66 jensens I think fender put there logo on there jensens ,or was fender inconsitent with that?(some just said jensen and some said fender jensen?,not sure! Anyway for now id like to know if that tank Ipreviously mentioned will be ok for my 65 twin reverb, THANKS FOR YOUR TIME!!

The primary compatibility issue for reverb tanks as used in Fender amps is the method by which the input and output cables are grounded. Some systems use a dedicated ground via isolated RCA jacks -- others use the tank housing itself. Check your existing tank and compare to the Gibbs tank in the Ebay listing.

As for your Jensens speakers, I cannot recall many vintage OEM Jensen 12's that actually had the word "Fender" on the decal. The decals for these Jensens were always gold and brown, with the generic notation that the speaker was specifically designed for electronic musical instruments. I have seen a few Jensen 10's in blackface PR's that had the blue and silver sticker on the magnet though.

What kinda of signature line is that lol!! Hey look I dont spend alot time on these forums, and again ive seemed to take off arajays head for my MISUNDERSTANDINGS!! So again Im sorry but Iasked hinm to clarify this once when I was replacing a Jbl in one of my amps and i recieved that signature phrase as a response. And that signature response was dead on , I mean it was gonna turn my amp into a piece of crap, So I assumed he was hinting the same about my current changes ive made oh well I am touchy when it comes to my amps CHEERS!!!!

No problem here. I think it was just a misunderstanding but I'll let Arjay speak for himself. Have a good one and enjoy those fine amps!

Arjay,

I think it's the custom shop's Bruce Zinky line at the bottom of each of your posts (BIG BLUE letters). It's being taken as your response to the OP questions about modifcations, etc.
