I have a '68 Vibro Champ, and 1968 was the first year they used the silver "drop" faced cover on it. First year of the silverface too. This model was only made from '68 to '69 until they changed the look of the silver cover where the knobs are on the front. Anyone know the value of my amp? It still has the original speaker in it, in fact everything is original except the tubes.
Thanks!

I'd guess $450 to $525 depending upon the cosmetic condition. More if you have the original footswitch and/or the factory cover. A few years back I paid $390 for a minty '68 Bronco Amp -- identical in all specs to a Vibro Champ.

The silverface drip-edge models actually began shipping in the spring of 1967 -- I helped to uncrate several new Champs, Vibro Champs, and Princeton Reverbs at a local music store in April of that year. They were quite a shock at first sight. You might check your tranny codes and date stamp inside the chassis to pin down the exact vintage.

Nope.

The Vibro Champ and Bronco are identical. In fact, some of the first Broncos shipped from Fullerton with Vibro Champ tube charts because the new charts weren't yet ready. Both circuits are the AA764 revision.

Atoller,

The only difference I can see is the Bronco (AB764) ran a 40/20/20 cap can (so had slightly plate higher voltages). The Vibro-Champ (AA764) ran a 20/20/20.

But, I've seen VC with 40/20/20 OEM stock and Broncos with 20/20/20 stock. Most ppl will replace with new 20/20/20, as it gives the front amp more "give" and volume range.
