Hey Arjay (or anyone), are those early 1960's white tolex Fenders with the dark maroon grilles? Interesting that they were being used in this 1966 concert. Or are they one-off's just for this band.

And what kinda guitars are they using? I don't think I've ever seen that brand before?

Thanks!

The amps date from late '61 or very early '62, shortly before the switch-over from oxblood to wheatstraw grill cloth. Both guitarists are using 6G14 Showman 15's while the poor bassist struggles to be heard with a 2 x 12 6G6 Bassman. The instruments appear to be Mosrites and the short-scale bass is noteworthy.

Nice clip!

Arjay

Those guys must drink a lot of coffee.

+1 on previous posts...My youngest son (14) is a drummer and I showed him this and he is just juiced! He loves the song Wipe Out and does a really good version of it!

He is just starting a band with a couple buddy's of his and it is great to see a fourth generation of the family playing instruments and having a band!
