Ok I think I get it now...

This forum's description is :

"Is a pre-1985 amp really a "vintage" amp? We don't know, but conveniently enough, 1985 was a rather defining year in Fender's history, so we're going to go ahead and say so."

And that's bothering why exactly??

Oh so that means if I sell anything pre 1985 I can call it vintage. Fender said so...

Sorry Bro...I dont interpret code. I guess vintage is a term that is relative to the subject being talked about. But I hear what you are saying. For me I feel like anything 1773 and uner is "vintage Fender". I realize the circuits change but not too much with a few of the models. BUT>>>>>>I would buy a 1978 DR before I bought anything from the 80's. Thats just me though so it should mean little to anyone else.

Sure seems that eBay beat them to the term....
If you search "vintage Fender" you will come up with a lot of 80's stuff.
To an old guy like me,pre 1970 is vintage.

8) 8) 8)

+1!

And the fact of the matter is......IF FMIC indeed offered a re-issue SFTR, one could still buy an original silverface for cheaper. And it'd likely be a better-built amp than any re-issue.

Yea, it's not rare on eBay to see ads for "Vintage" 1994 Strats.
