Thanks... Just so happens I bought a used Variac a while back for just such occasions.. but the real issue here will be what toasted the input signal wires to the two input and recovery tubes as well as fricasseeing the power tube...

My wild-@ss guess would be someone plugged the Reverb Unit into the pre-out of an amp, instead of into the guitar. Or worse, into the external speaker outlet.

Not a bad guess.. on the informative front...a second call to Fender got me an actual 1993 schematic of the updated pc boarded 6G15 circuit and component layout that I can detective from seems they did make a post CBS 6G15 circuit unit for a while at least. How long they did this and whether it sounds as good as the point to point units.... we'll see when it gets up and runnin....But we have the info needed...

 If that circuit board is fried beyond repair, Watts Audio does made very good turret boards (for P2P). They are a bit $$$.... but very well made (nearly mil spec).

http://www.turretboards.com/

Click onto Circuit Boards (just left and above chick with upside down Les Paul).

Then Fender Style

Then Reverb 6G15

I have one of their Tremolux tweed boards still waiting to be assembled. Very well made.

Just an FYI.

Thanks
my original plan was to rebuild the unit in the case I got on EBAY with the chassis, should it have needed it. But after checking out the circuit board from underneath, visually it looks fine.. So I will search out the fry the wire problem, with the 1993 schematic and layout that I just got sent from Fender and see how it goes thanks for the suggestion..and the resource...
