They should work well in either of those amps, Reb. Both use the same 125P5D power tranny and rectifier.

Thanks RJ for the advice as usual, also the other guys....I learn a lot from y'all...it's funny that after 44+ years of playing, that I only have about 10-12 years of experimenting with different tubes and learning the inner workings of the amps.
Before that I just popped a set of tubes in when the amp didn't sound quite right.

I never realized the importances of setting the idle bias until around 1980 when my Dad mentioned it after we re-tubed my '68 Deluxe Reverb. He happened to mention that the tone seemed pretty brittle after dropping in a new pair of Westinghouse GTA's he had laying around. Sure enough, he checked it and they were pretty cold -- V7 at 14mA, V8 at close to 16.5mA. After we replaced both grid resistors with a matched-set, he showed me how to use a bias probe and "milk" the bias pot up until the 6V6's found their "sweet spot" (right at 19.8mA and 19.5mA, respectively). Yeah, the old man knew his $hit.

My Dad was a communications-electronics engineering officer in the USAF for close to twenty years. He worked on microwave, radar, and ground-to-air HF and UHF radio systems. Before WWII he worked at the radio studio/station in NYC that broadcast the original Orson Welles "War Of The Worlds" show.
