I've been through several fixes to get the reverb on my 135 watt twin back in working order. I have cleaned the points for improved continuity at the chassis rca plugs, and the tank. I have switched out the preamp tube at V3 with a tested and fully functioning amperex 12AT7 and still, no reverb. However, I if I kick the amp (with love), i still get the classic reverb tank clang coming through the speakers. Also, the tremolo is working, but seems very weak.

Anyone have any other solutions I haven't found yet?

thanks

Have you checked the tank and cabling for continuity with a DVM?

No, I don't have a DVM. I took cleaned the contacts with de oxit at both the tank and chassis ends. Are DVM's expensive? I'm guessing thats a digital volt meter.

by the way, I was just playing it and the tremolo seems fine, very warm. I think I was hearing as weak since I was playing at a really low volume.

Yeah, I never unplugged the cables until I cleaned the points on each rca plug, one at a time as not to mix up which goes where. Its that clang that stumps me. how could I get that, but no reverb on the guitar signal?

do you use a footswitch to enable the reverb? maybe check the footswitch jack for any issues.

i do have the two button footswitch. its hookup correctly, I even switched the plugs. it just alternates the controls so the tremolo is activated when you hit the reverb button and vice versa.

when I deactivate the reverb with the footswitch and give the amp a little kick, no clang until I hit the footswitch and then the clang comes on.

if you have access to another tank try to sub it in and see what happens.....

did you have any work donr prior to the reverb not working?
did the amp suffers any kind of drop or shock?

v4 is the reverb return abd 2nd gain stage for the vib channel. you can try swapping that.

Also RJ mentioned checking the continuity of the cables. Dont need a big time meter for that. A cheap volt/ohm meter will do the trick. get a half way decent one DVM for 50.00 bucks if you want. Will come in handy if you want to do amp trouble shooting.

Correct. A twenty-dollar cheapie is as good as a two-hundred dollar Beckman in this case. You'll find them at Lowe's, Home Depot, Ace Hardware and wherever fine "Made In The Peoples' Republic Of China" products are sold.

Check your tank cables to ascertain they're routed correctly. The jacks between the amp chassis and the tank should mate "input" to "input" and "output" to "output", at least on the Accutronics models.
