Apparently it's an "acquired" taste.

When I think "80's" what comes to my mind is Autograph, Def Leppard, Damn Yankees, Lenny Kravitz, Bon Jovi, Guns 'N' Roses, Van Halen, Rainbow, Whitesnake, Ratt, Dokken, Judas Priest, Night Ranger, Poison, and the rest of the "big hair" acts with monstrously-phallic backlines of Marshalls stacked to the ceiling, basswood Kramers with EMG's, pyrotechnics, smoke machines, and lasers galore.

Concerts today seem pretty tame by comparison......

:P

yeah but its all about what ya gotta go through to "aquire" the taste.
those are the same bands i think of when 80's music is mentioned.
well you did forget way cool jr by the way.
yeap concerts have really mellowed out these days. i think alot of the "up and coming"
dont have good roll models about what a concert can really be.
sometimes i think a lot of bands and promoters forget the "show" part too.
i think they get it wrong. depending on the band and music type, i expect a bit of show to go along with the concert as well.

One thing I've always had to say about some of those bands is that some of those guitar players had some impressive speed and chops....I'll give them credit for that.
