I've never used the Fulltone, but the TS9 or 808 are always a good choice for the vintage amps.I've seen Jack Pearson many times with different amps and usually there's only a Boss tuner and Tube Screamer on the floor...the guy sounds great no matter what he does, but when he kicks the TS in it's not a big difference, just a boost.
I guess with all the references to Jack in my posts, you can tell the guy impresses me. :)

The TS9 is a nice unit -- the Keely-modded versions, doubly so.

yeah..the early 80s TS9 I have is an good pedal. I have done the "brown" mod and installed the JRC chip too. Has an intermitently working footswitch though. Tried to repair it to no avail. The Keeley mods make a big dif I guess????

The TS9 RI I have sounds good but borders on too much OD for my hollowbody.
I much prefer the natural amp OD.

I had swapped in an AY7 into the bandmaster before trying to cut some of the gain.
But now with the speaker cab fixed I put the AX7 back in and has a nice OD now.
A pedal is just to add some extra balls when needed.

Well I rewired my GE412 cab to 4 ohms, disconnected 2 speakers and the other 2 in parallel and boy did the Bandmaster come to life. Silent, no hum or buzz, sound is so clean through my Tele yet bass is punchy, couldnt turn it off last night. Got a few TS9 with the JRC chip that I keep at different settings and it just sounds so damn awesome. Sorry, had to tell someone :)

Now all I need is a reverb unit to go with it.

Had a stock TS9 and didn't really like it. Sent it to Robert Keeley for his mod on it, and it's great in front of my Princeton Reverb - knobs at 10, 2 and 2 o'clock respectively.

OCD is a great pedal; other guitar player in our band had one.

For my bandmaster, I prefer a Paul Cochrane Timmy paired with a Barber Direct Drive. Dirt, Crunch and everything inbetween.

Yea, I use 2 TS9s I put the JRC chip in and they do sound a bit better. I use opposite settings on each. They're good pedals, not too noisy. Still looking for a fuzz that doesnt hum louder than the amp though :)

Two fuzzes I own, no hum in either.

Guyatone TZ2 The Fuzz - $50 clone of the Univox Super Fuzz, which I used to own. Sounds great, but needs to be used by itself; doesn't play well with other pedals.

Keeley The Fuzz - great fuzz sound, Germanium or Silicon switch, and plays very well with pedals.

The Keeley is on my pedalboard now, the Guyatone is not.

Maybe I'll give Keeley a try.
