Just made a quick video so you can hear what this monster sounds like... sorry for the audio quality, just using a digital camera to record.

My Strat straight into the SR, vol at 6, treble at 10, bass and mid at 3, guitar vol around 8. Enjoy!

CBlues...awesome sounding amp and I happen to watch some of your Green Iguana Reunion playing on youtube as well....nice playing all around 8) ...would that be the Green Iguana in Tampa :?: I have been there a couple times while on business to the area...great place...it sure looks like the same place. I seem to remember you living in sunny FLA.

No way! You've been to the Iguana?! This is the original one in Tampa, they have a few locations now... the Monday nite Blues jam been going on for at least 20 years, maybe 22, I know I've been going there since 90 or 91. Lots of great musicians stopped by to jam... were you there on jam nite?

Yep I went there in 09 and 10 on a couple of different visits...some great blues playing, enjoyed it very much, but it made me miss my guitar after watching the show and drinking a bit more than I normally do. AWESOME place

Small world huh?

Small world indeed! You should've asked to borrow someone's guitar and jammed with the band... hope you make it out here again in the future and jam with us 8)

If I get down there again anytime soon, I will certainly be heading to the Iguana and would love to get up and jam with you all. Would be a real pleasure!

Cheers

Well now I am going to have to try to find a reason to get down to Tampa! Just make sure you bring that Super Reverb or Deluxe Reverb to crank the blues through

If you play through Lightnin' Jimmy Cedar's "Spankmaster Reverb", I guarantee you'll want to build your own.

I have always wanted to build a Tweed Deluxe from a kit...but my knowledge of tube amps has always been with the playing aspect and taking it to a tech for retubing, rebiasing, etc., just how hard would it be for someone with some soldering skills but little to no knowledge of electronics to do a build :?: I know enough to know I don't know much but am curious if this is something best left to experts like you Arjay :?:

If you scored a 75 or higher on the electronics portion of your AFSVAB exam, you can handle a 5E3 build.

And there's plenty of help available.

Whew...just barely, scored an 80! They tried to get me to go into electronics, but I chose another path...will have to keep that in mind for a little farther down the road...I have seen some great info here especially on the cabs and getting that laquered look of the original...Better put you on speed dial once I start the soldering though!

There are plenty of 9-level techs right here on this forum (you guys know who you are -- take a bow, gentlemen).
