arjay is in a world very few have been to.
guys like him are few and far between. its crazy the stuff they know.
how he knows so much is amazing to me. hes one of those guys you just shut up and listen to, and hope you can remember some of what he said when the lesson is over lol.
my g.friends dad is like that. he will shoot you so full of info your brain goes into overload and you start forgetting things youve known your whole life to make room for all the new stuff you just learned lol.

based on opinion, what is the top 5 best vintage fender guitar amps?

Basically......

I could never decide -- as difficult a quandry as a mother of 12 being forced to choose a favorite child.

Thus, I've endeavored to own them all!

It'd be a helluva lot easier to pick the five worst Fender amps!

But, rectally speaking*, you could do a lot worse than these five "best" choices:

5E3 Tweed Deluxe
5F6-A Tweed Bassman
6F4-A Brownface Super
AA763 Blackface Vibroverb
AA165 Blackface Pro Reverb

(*ie: talkin' out my azz)

In the Teagle & Sprung book, the First 50 years, the author recommended this amp as the best all around amp made by anyone, for guitars with single coils...that's debatable, but it is a great amp!

see this is where i get confused, the pro reverb, the deluxe the deluxe rever, the
vibrolux. i get these all confused lol.
im just looking for the best alaround amp to make part of my blues tone rig.
skip all the "tone comes from your fingers" crap, but im sure you know what i mean rebel.
some amps just sound better with blues than others.

The Deluxe Reverb is a hard one to beat for just about anything bluesy,or other styles.
You've asked about reissues,I see a lot of good reports about the Deluxe Reverb RI....the inside is a little different but the sound is there.
Arjay has one I think and he has done a few mods to it...but the easiest and one of the best changes to make is the speaker...there's better ones to be had,I use Weber speakers and just putting one in a DR RI would be an improvement.
If I was going to buy a reissue amp to use for clubs and blues,it would be the Deluxe Reverb RI...no doubt.
There's lots of posts in the modern amp section about DR RI amps....check 'em out.

yeah ive been all over youboob looking at the DR's and the DRRI's.
i think im getting G A S again rebel. i cant afford to do it right yet but its
coming.

Ok this is going to be fun...but very difficult...

#1. '59 Harvard (I was such an IDIOT for letting that one go)
#2. Silverface Super Reverb (Good deals can still be had even on the ones w/o Mst Vol
#3. BF Deluxe (Still surprised this wasn't Arjays #1)
#4. Tweed Champ (God used one on Layla...good enough for me)
#5. BF Tremolux (One that is on the list of Must Have)
#6. '84 Concert and '64 Princeton (Yeah I know, that is more than five, but I said it would be difficult  )

On my list only the 84 Concert is a MV amp...but I love the tone of it...especially with the 2x10 configuration that I have.

Believe it or not back in the good ol' days lots of times more than one guy plugged into an amp, sometimes it was a mic also...but I guess that's the reason for two jacks...all I ever knew....on some of the tweeds a jack is marked "mic".
