You know what it is, you know what it does, please do not drool on the Tolex......

This skillful recreation began life as a 1970 Super Reverb. It's been completely refurbished with new filter caps, new bottles, and new Merc-Mag iron for the power and output trannies. The speaker is a rare factory-reconed D130F with about 30 hrs on it. The original owner to whom I traded a 2001 AmStd Tele and an undisclosed amount of "e pluribus unum" could not recollect the identity of the custom builder who assembled this beauty but the attention to detail is impressive to say the least -- right down to the stained-and-aged cab interior and the braided stainless-steel cables for the reverb tank.

How does it sound, you ask?

Like a thousand blues-addicted angels, strumming harps personally tuned and tweaked by SRV himself!

Killer amp! What's the tone like? Compared to BF Vibrolux (which I'm familiar with).

Been playing on that brownface Pro Amp I just re-did. Very nice deep, rich tone. Unbelievable tremolo/vibrato. At "8+" it just shakes the whole house.

Enjoy that baby. It'll prolly outlast you and I and be passed onto future generations.

Totally phat, with beau coup harmonics at the mid-high extremes. Dimed, single low notes hit the chest cavity with the dramatic impact of an EMT delivering a pre-cordial thump to a comatose accident victim. Lush, legendary vibe. Nothing compares. Nothing!

My quest for tone is over.

Well now that your "Quest for Tone is Over", I'll PM you my address and you can send over the rest of your amps so I can go through them to see if any of them fits my "Tone Quest"

Nice amp and glad to see it has your favorite speaker in it

Arjay,

Looking at that amp inspired me to fire up the '62 Pro. And do a little Billy Gibbons (or try to) "Just Got Paid."

With the tone set right and the vibrato going, it makes the creamiest, warmest, sexiest overdrive tone (at "8"), with NO effects boxes. Just my fingers and a copper pipe slide. And Les Paul Standard. Thinking to getting a brownface Fender Reverb Unit (6G15) for it.

I don't think ANY solid-state amp with all the modeling could get close.

Enjoy your amp!

You driving the Corvette over?

Better to rent a U-Haul.

BTW, the guy I swapped this with was driving a 2000 Acura NSX in "Babewatch Yellow". When he drove up I thought it was a C5 at first.

I gotta git my new tri-focals soon.

Yeah, I will drive out in a couple weeks, I figure since you were going to give me an amp I would give you a ride in the Vette for an opportunity to test drive the collection and find the "One" and just toss it in the back of the Vette and roll on home...will have to wait for the dang snow to melt first...don't drive the Vette in the snow...and if you are mixing up a Acure NSX with a Corvette, yep better head to the optomitrist for those Tri Focals

Enjoy the new amp...one heck of a nice job done on it :!:

I'll join T2 to help you unload some of these amps that you have no use for, now that your tone quest is over :D I can easily fit 2 or 3 amps in the back of the C6! I'll take that Pro amp and the PR

This thread is giving me the blues...
