It's a great amp, I've had it for about five years now and only am getting around to dating it now. Fender reports that the amp can be dated by the stamp on the transformer, which is all I really have to go by. In my case it reads : "EIA 606720" which Fender says makes it a '67.

This is said to be by the "7" after the "EIA 606" meaning '67, and the "20: referring to the twentieth week of the year. And I'm inclined to believe it, except I thought the silverfaces didn't start until later. And I understand that there was a silver rim around the tweed over the speaker, I don't have that though.

There is a slight gap underneath the silver face on the control panel and the tweed covering, which makes me think that it has been lost to history. Possibly.

Anyway, I was curious if anyone had any thoughts as to the real date. And if anyone knew where I could get my hands on the silver rimming, if it turns out that it's missing. And does anyone know if the circuitry of the '67 was changed much from the blackface design in a Fender Princeton Reverb in that year?

I'll be happy to post pictures at a later date. I'm just curious about it, it doesn't at the moment have much historical value, someone took out the tremolo circuits and put in some kind of hot rod Mesa Boogie overdrive circuit, it'll have to be removed one day.

It's my baby, though, I love it. Thanks Fender Forum!

The silverface Princeton started in 1968. Do you still have the tube chart afixed to the inside of the cabinet? If you do, look at the model number: AA964 (68-70), AB1270 (71-?). If the amp is from the 60's, there is also two letters stamped at the bottom of the chart which tells you the date of the amp.

I do have the tube chart, but it doesn't mean much to me- thanks for the info. I'll take a look at it when I get home. I don't really think it's a '67, but Fender said that's when the amplifier itself had been made. But I likely misunderstood or something. I'll check into it later.

But I appreciate it and will post later. Either way, I've had it for years and what a great amp. I'd been doing time with others until this baby.

Here are some photos for all of you- and thanks by the way. The inner amp sticker means still nothing to me, maybe it will mean something to you. Also there is a picture of the face of it.
