The problem may be that you are using a 12tax tube. I have never heard of that tube, but I'm sure that it should be a 12AX7 or maybe 12AT7 that should be used instead.

Acutally, 12tax tube reminds me, it's that time of the year again... :(

Wonder if the feedback will be positive or negative?

The pictures must be on a publicly viewable site like PhotoBucket (free). Once uploaded to PhotoBucket or similar site, each picture will have an "IMG" code that you can copy and paste into your post here. Once the code is pasted into your post, click "preview" or "submit" and you pic will be visible.

The code looks like the one inside the code box below.

Code:
[IMG]http://i974.photobucket.com/albums/ae227/shimmilou/Misc/3stooges.jpg[/IMG]

Then you'll see it like this:

Lots and lots of E Pluribus Unum and hard work.

New Tolex, new grill cloth, new hardware, and a lifetime's understanding of Fender amps and how they're constructed.

For the record, the photo depicts a 100% un-molested and never abused/neglected 47 year-old example that somehow survived decades of professional stage use without having the crap beat out of it. I bought it from the second owner, a personal friend and long-time acquaintance who knew the first owner well. Aside from a warranty-replacement speaker installed in 1965 and a recent upgrade to a 3-conductor power cable for safety's sake, the amp is as it was when shipped from Fullerton in December of 1964.

Much of what's required to restore a vintage Fender amp can be found on Ebay or various web-based stores. The limiting factors are one's budget and one's patience.

HTH

Hey Arjay, got my '62 Pro-Amp yesterday. Baby photos. :D

Variac on tonight. Looks like going to need to replace some caps that have gotten some goombahs. Amongst other hidden "things"--- not yet discovered. Can't wait to hear this puppy.

Thanks Arjay! I'll post some more lustful shots, as soon as I get the thing spec'ed out. If you can stand the heat. :)
