A friend of mine rescued an old Fender Band Master amp from a trip to the dump and he'd like to know what year it was made and how much it is probably worth.

They told him it didn't work but, when he took it home, he noticed that some of the tubes were loose. He made sure they were seated properly and then he tried it. It works great!

It has those legs that let you lean it back, it has two normal inputs and two vibrato inputs. You can see photos of it from a variety of angles here:

Any suggestions?

The amp appears to be a late '62 or early '63 6G7-A model but data embossed on the transformers would confirm the vintage. The speakers, if original, would also yield clues as to the amp's age. The plated logos on both the head and speaker cab are somewhat rare.

Nice find!

Fender Field Guide will help you id the amp

The pricing chart at the bottom is a year out of date.... the guy who ran the macro to track ebay sales just didn't have the time to maintain the data. But this would be fair wholesale price.

Retail prices can be found at http://www.gbase.com. Its a website where vintage dealers list their stock.

I think you should offer Gordie double what he paid
