Stratele, Seen this in hi-fi amps. It's why some manufacturer's recommend bias settings of 400mV-450mV (they have 10-ohm precision resistor per tube). Old Dynaco ST-70's recommended 1.56 volts (it has a shared 15.6 ohm cathode tied resistor), to equal 100mA per EL34/KT-77 pair.

I used to mod these great Dyanco amps for guitar use a bazillion years ago. When you could pick up a good/working unit off Ebay or "The Recycler" (remember that rag?) for under $50. Some are still working.

Yes Dynaco amp are great amp, I have some schematics in my library but I never look a them.
