Picked this up the other day for $425 (!!!) and can't find info about it anywhere. The serial number dates it to 1962 and the logo, tolex and knobs are correct for that period... but it's a 1x12 speaker (not original) and I can't find anything about a bandmaster 1x12 combo amp. Has anyone heard of these or do I have something weird?

It looks like a skillful "what-if" re-creation to me. I've built a number of them myself.

The chassis and front panel are likely authentic -- but they left Fullerton together as a head configuration, to be mated to a 2 x 12 bass reflex enclosure measuring 21" x 32" x 11.5".

The cabinet, with the exception of the grill cloth, is period correct, though, right? What would you guess it's from? What speaker would you recommend for this bad boy?

As you can guess, it sounds pretty amazing. The speaker, a vintage Celestion, is shot but still, man... what an amazing tone. I need to spray out the pots but that's it. Original footswitch, too!

It's likely a custom build. As I mentioned, I've built several of them over the years......

I'd need to see more detailed pics of your cab's construction but it seems to be in order. Mine are virtually indistinguishable from the real McCoy......right down to a repro tube chart and simulated aging.

As for a speaker, that really depends upon your personal preferences. The only "new" speaker I'd consider befitting of a 6G7 Bandmaster amp would be an alnico Weber or a Celestion Gold. These old amps really seem to take a shine to vintage drivers like a Jensen P12N, JBL D120F, or a Fane.
