I haven't learned a new lick since 1975, when Joseph Walsh showed me that cool hammer on/off riff he used on his live-at-Madison-Garden version of "Lost Woman" while we were waiting for our connecting flights in the passenger lounge at the old Stapleton Airport in Denver!

That's a good price..... seems you can get them for between $450 -$500 on ebay/craigslist (which I consider the wholesale price).

Retail (dealers) seems to be about $650-800.

Now post a couple of photos of that bad boy!!!

Play through #1 input with humbuckers to get the break-up. #2 is padded to tame humbuckers. At least that seems to be how mine is...

Here's my 66 BF Champ.

I already have a 72 Silverface so I'll probably sell it and get a vibro champ.

+1

I picked up a near mint '68 Bronco on Ebay for $425. These single-ended amps are great for noodling around or for use as a "bench" amp when working on guitars.

That's a cool story, Arjay. I'd love to hear some more about "brushes with greatness" that you might have had.
If I wasn't old enough to drive in 1975, does that disqualify me from being an "old fart"?

LMFAO!

Only a paltry few, I'm afraid......

Helping Leslie West out of the Sacramento Inn's swimming pool after he drove the concierge's golf cart into it.

Blowing a "blunt" backstage with Jeff Carlisi and Don Barnes of 38 Special at some dive in Belleville, Illinois.

Sharing some brewskis one night at the Carriage House in Augusta, Georgia with J.R. Cobb and Paul Goddard of the Atlanta Rhythm Section.

Meeting Nils Lofgren at a music store in Beltsville, Maryland.

Meeting up with Gary Hoey and Rick Derringer at our local Denny's after they played a show out here.

Having a very constructive conversation with Tom Johnston after he and the Doobies played here.

Jamming with Ricky Medlocke at his trailer between takes when we both worked on a Bill Shatner film.

Like I said......nothing to write home about.

Hey that's impressive! Being in the midwest, you don't get alot of celebrity action here, so my list is very short. Mostly while in the service.

I met Deen Castranovo when the guys were installing a custom stereo in his Jag in Salem, Or.

I hung out with Ken Warmoth when his showroom was his front porch in Puyallup, Wa.

Other than that, nothing worth mentioning.

Once a roadie and I got him out, the the three of us hoisted "The Great Fatsby" to safety. Then the Sacramento County Sheriff's deputies arrived......

I would have loved to have seen that,my guess is that Leslie is crazy and funny...I've seen him somewhere in a video about his guitar and it's funny.

+1 on being careful buying what some people call a "pre-cbs" amp. I recently saw a listing on ebay for a "pre-cbs 1966 Fender amp". You got to know what your looking at or unfortunately there's some folks who'll take advantage of you.
