Hello all,

I have a line on a Bandmaster Reverb Silverface head and want to know if it's worth it. The guy's asking $200 for it. Sounds like a good deal on a vintage head, but I don't know much about Bandmasters. I've also asked the guy for the serial number so I can gauge the year, but haven't heard back yet. I'm looking for valued opinions. Thanks.

- Jeff

The Bandmaster Reverb Amp was introduced in late 1968 and its chassis is identical to the Super Reverb in every respect except for the output tranny -- the BMR's secondary is wound for 4 ohms (instead of the SR's traditional 2 ohms). Expect about 45 watts of pure Fender tube power......sufficient to power multiple speakers in a variety of configurations. These amps typically command $600 to $700 in today's secondary market. Thus, two bills is a proverbial steal.

Twist that knife Arjay....

Just my luck I guess. The guy said the amp was in "rough shape" so I probably would've had to sink another $200 into it to get it in to gig ready shape. Even still though, I was pretty bummed I lost out.

Maybe it was not a deal ? If the sellers say it was in a rough shape IMO it need lot of money to put on this amp if you can't do the work by yourself.

+1

I recently saw a DRRI listed on C/L for $400 (!!!). But by the time I responded to the ad it was already G-O-N-E gone!

Oh well......

It's appened to me to ; take too much time to take decision.

You have to know before how much gear worth and when you saw a deal you know already and you buy right now .

Next time.
