HELLO PEOPLE!! I finally recieved my 67 blackface pro reverb . I had this baby checked out yesterday from top to bottom and my AMP TECH WAS IMPRESSED. HE SAID IT WAS MINT!!!!!! He explained that the only changes were general maintence for example if it was a 67 CHEVY IT GOT NEW TIRE AND BRAKES thats the equivelent of the maintence, SO SHE'S A KEEPER. WHAT do all u think of the original speakers? Is IT COMMON TO UPGRADE? OR NOT NECASSARY? ANY WAY THE guy who checked out my amp is BRILLIANT!!! CHECK OUT GLEN MORRIS AT MORRIS AMPS!!!

I always replace the speakers in mine with Webers,my Pro has them and sounds great...save the originals so you don't blow them, they will be okay if you don't push them too hard for awhile.

That depends on what the "original" speakers are.

What's in it right now?

I do not believe in pulling vintage speakers out to "preserve" them. If already-aging speakers sit unused on a shelf it's likely the cones, the surrounds, and the suspension boot will dessicate and grow brittle with disuse, accelerating the natural propensity for anything comprised of paper, fabric, and adhesives to simply dry out and flake away to nothing. JMO.

It is not my opinion, but if you are sure you won't play loud leave in the amp.

GOT TO ASK U a question about mt grill Not only is the cloth non original but u know the board or the grill or whatever its called that the cloth is rapped around (excuse my greenness) ALTHOUGH the wheat couloured cloth thats on it right now is a really really nice choice, As u previously mentioned the weave is incorrect, and its even inside out!,Where IS the best place I can get the entire grill? and how much?

Rodgers Amps makes and sells repro baffles for various blackface and silverface amps and they are frequently listed on Ebay (with a reasonable BIN price). You might check there under "amp accessories" or go directly to his website. Larry uses the "aged" grill cloth which should complement your amp's cosmetics quite well. HTH

Have you determined the brand and vintage of the speakers currently installed?

Yes, I totally agree with Arjay's recommendation of Larry Rodgers' work ! He built a blonde/ maroon/ brown faceplate cab for my '68 AB763 Twin Reverb many years ago, that was a solid beauty. Called her "The Queen of Fullerton". I've since bought black face plates, from him. and they're just spot-on. IMO the Utah speakers are a personal taste thing, just like so many other parts of your musical set-up. Good Pickin' ! Art
