I just bought a handmade cab with what looks like old fender speakers in the back. How can I find out the OHMs, what kind of fender amp they're from, & what year??

The speakers are alnico CTS 12's, made in the 30th week of 1968.

These were commonly used in pairs with the Bandmaster Amp of that era.

As originally configured they'd have 8Ω voice coils with a power-handling capability of 30-35 watts each.

Thanks for the details Arjay... Any recommendations on what type of head would work best with this cab?

Or what kind of tubes, watts, etc. I should look for in a head?

Thanks again.

My sole recommendation would be to limit your amp choice(s) to something in the 50-watt range (for the sake of those speakers).

That still leaves a number of excellent options -- vintage/modern, tube/transistor, Fender/other.

Best of luck, HTH
