In my Bandmaster combo, I have the Weber California 12's, with the aluminum dust caps. Ted before he passed said this was as close as it got to the venerable JBL D120.

It's a good speaker, but a little harsh/bright in an open cabinet; haven't tried them in a closed one.

For my Showman, I'm running 2 Warehouse Speakers G12C in an older Bandmaster closed cabinet and couldn't be happier - warm on clean, amazing on breakup.

Your amp cleaned up really well! Congrats!!!

Thanks! And thanks to everybody for the great advice. The Webers seem like a pretty nice value across the board. One thing of note -- this is an open back cab, (not like an orig BM cab) therefore I may need something a little less bright...

Has anoyone ever tried one of these Weber speakers, without the chrome-dome cap? I noticed in JBL's, those with the aluminum cap tend to have a brighter tone, than those without.

Thanks!

Yeah, I use a Weber California(paper cap) and a Brit Vintage 30 in my 2X12 open back cab. The amp is a '67 Band Master. To my ears, the tone is strong and very balanced. Art
